This smart 2.0 four-cylinder petrol saloon was originally supplied in June 1984 to its first owner who specified attractive Thistle Green paintwork with dark green cloth interior, optional electric sunroof, electric front windows, wood trim and manual transmission. He kept it for four years, selling it in December 1988 to our vendor who has kept it ever since.
It is a rare treat to find a car from such long-term ownership, but to find one that still looks this good after so many years is rarer still. Evidently very well cared for, this car comes complete with a Mercedes-Benz diary of all and any works undertaken, no matter how trivial, all entered in great detail right back to October 1989.
The first entry records the fitment of a front exhaust pipe, while the last entry in 2009 was for fitment of four new spark plugs and a rotor arm at 105,993 miles. The car has now covered just over 106,400 miles and has seen little use in the past few years due to the advancing years of the owner.
In addition to the entries in the diary, the history folder also includes many invoices dating back to May 1989, a current V5C, a maintenance manual, four old MOTs and a current MOT which runs until May 2019 with no advisories recorded. If you have ever lusted after one of these handsomely understated and beautifully built saloons, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
