The Russisan response to the Greeves Invacar (20 years too late) this ZAZ Invalidka is also powered by a two-stroke single (346cc) and uses some rather Heath Robinson-looking hand controls.

In fact, the whole car looks a bit Heath Robinson although it is not without its charms, especially in its Kermit-green livery, and it may not surprise you to learn that it was once voted among the top ten weirdest cars ever made. The speedo goes up to 140kph, which is a frightening thought, and it is only showing 20,311km (12,600 miles) which is not a lot in a normal car but quite an achievement in this!

Originally built in the Ukraine, it was brought to the UK from Lithuania in 2016 and has been in the Andrew Bremner Collection since. An odd-looking beast, and perhaps not one you would want to drive on the open road unless you absolutely had to, it has no documents but will doubtless appeal to the collector of Soviet-era artefacts and to the more eccentric among you. In fact, the more your cataloguer looks at it, the more he likes it… Nurse!!
