A copy of the Talbot production and sales record show that this 1935 long wheelbase AW75 model left the factory on 1st February 1935 as a rolling chassis and was sent to the coachbuilders at Darracq. The car was completed just 10 days later, being despatched and delivered to Ireland on 20th February and registered ZA 4430 to Mr Ellis in County Kildare. Sold through ST Robinsons, it was rated at 17.97hp and retains its original six-light bodywork to this day.

There are a number of old bills and a brief hand-written log book which detail some of its early life including a rebore in 1954! It returned to England in 1962, entering into the hands of the vendor’s father in 1970.

Remaining with them ever since, it has been much loved and used a great deal over the years. In 1985, Cotswold Engineering replaced the white metal bearings and a fresh Arthur Archer oil pump was added.

The sunroof is operational and although not fitted, the car comes with its original pull-up rear blind. The bodywork appears to be pretty sound and remains eminently usable. Under the bonnet, a problem with the water pump and associated drive a few years ago put the car off the road, although it does run and move under its own steam.

The vendor describes the engine as rather tired, so it is basically due a comprehensive overhaul. That said, the rest of the car is most presentable and could easily be up and running in time for next spring. It was last MOTd in 2011 and is offered at No Reserve so the highest bid buys the car.
