Under Ford’s stewardship in the 90’s, the ‘Daimler’ name was reseved for the top specification six- and twelve-cylinder X300 range of Jaguar saloon cars in production from 1994-1997.

This fine Daimler Double-Six on offer here today was the pinnacle of the range and features the Jaguar twelve-cylinder in six-litre form. A comparatively rare car, it is one of only 1,230 long-wheel base models built with V12 power and four speed GM-sourced transmission.

The lucky rear passengers can recline in the individually heated rear seats (an expensive option) which also house a central console with a wide array of rear seat controls. Lambswool carpets and walnut tray tables add to the luxury feel and the car also boasts a sun roof, telephone and rear blind, along with electric heated front seats and climate control with air conditioning.

Finished in special order Aqua green metallic, it is fitted with optional XJR alloy wheels that have recently been refurbished.

The car’s history file comes complete with owner’s pack and service book showing 9 stamps, invoices, and both sets of keys, which confirm that the indicated 79,600 miles is correct. The car has a current MOT until May 2019 with no advisories.

Offered here today at No Reserve, rarely has such luxury been so tantalisingly dangled at such close proximity
