This Jaguar XJR-S is number 63 of only 100 Celebration models produced to celebrate Jaguar’s 1988 victory at Le Mans. The logbook shows two registered keepers, although the car was the vendor’s company car when new and was later transferred to his private ownership, so he has effectively driven it from new.
The XJR-S was built by JaguarSport (a joint venture with Tom Walkinshaw Racing, who were responsible for the Le mans-winning XJR9) and featured aerodynamic bodywork, special wheels, suspension and chassis tweaks.
The car has always been garaged and has its own fitted cover. The recorded mileage is 108,665 and this is known to be correct. The car has been used lightly over the past few years with an average of 500 miles showing between MOTs since 2011. The car had its last MOT test in June 2017 (no advisories) and has only covered 284 since.
The vendor will retain the number plate shown in the photographs and the car will resume its original registration - F111 OPA. A factory handbook and original sales folder will be supplied with the car and the vendor advises us that it has been regularly serviced and maintained.
It is in lovely condition inside and out, although there are one or two minor scratches on the paintwork commensurate with this age. The car started easily, drove smoothly and made all the right noises during the photography session.
This Jaguar is an impressive beast with great presence and plenty of performance on tap. The XJS is becoming more appreciated of late and this Celebration model is especially appealing.
