OAN 260E is a 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I Automatic 2+2 Coupé and was owned from new until 2011 by Lord Boyne and family, of the Burwarton Estate in Shropshire. It has fewer than 22,000 miles showing on the clock – a figure which is believed to be correct and can be explained, partly, by the fact that the good Lord also owned another (red) E-Type which he drove far more often.

The 19 MOTs on file date back to 1994 and show the car as having covered only 19,076 miles at that time which indicates that fewer than 3,000 miles have been added in the last 25 years. During its time at Burwarton the car was always tended to by Parker’s Garage of Ditton Priors, and they are of the opinion that the indicated mileage is likely to be correct.

After being bought from the Boyne family, it has now found its way into the current owner's hands who had every intention of restoring it. However, it is now offered for sale in original and unmolested condition, due to lack of time and space.

This pale primrose beauty was supplied by Henly's of London, via dealers Hadley Green Garage in Hertfordshire. There is an accompanying Heritage Certificate which confirms the car’s original specification and that it is a ‘matching numbers’ machine.

There is an invoice on file from Jaguar specialists CMC of Bridgnorth for £577 spent in 2001 to cure an intermittent engine problem. CMC reported the car as running perfectly afterwards following a 60 mile road test. The last MOT was issued in October 2013 and recorded only two minor advisories (ineffective suspension arm dust cover, wobbly wheel bearing) and the car has only covered 45 miles since then.

Latterly kept in storage with a Jaguar specialist, the vendor advises that the car is currently a non-runner although the engine does turn over. He also advises that it will require a complete brake overhaul and attention to the fuel system and although there is some surface rust and areas that will require attention, he believes that a new bonnet has possibly been fitted at some time in the past.
