This Regency Red E-Type V12 spent the first 18 years of its life in America before being imported from Florida in December 1989 by local Jaguar parts specialists, SNG Barratt.
The car flew through its first MOT in January the following year at which point it had 65,080 miles on the clock, a total which has only risen by 15,000 over the last 28 years, the clock now showing just under 80,000 miles. Invoices and photos on file show that the car received much attention over the next few years, including an engine-out repaint and conversion to RHD by 1994. Invoices from The Classic Transport Company also show that work was done to bring the steering, suspension and electrics up to scratch.
The car rides on a set of chrome wire wheels with narrow-band whitewall tyres which only enhance its superstar looks, although the vendor tells us that the original steel wheels also come with the car. This E-Type has had only three owners since its return to the UK, the current since 2005, and it would appear that they have all looked after it well.
Documentation includes a V5C, US Certificate of Title, import papers, 15 old MOTs and a new MOT should be obtained in time for the sale, the last having expired in October 2018 with no advisories recorded.
Looking most presentable as it is, there are a few areas that could stand improvement (carpets, engine bay ancillaries) but these are easy jobs that could be tackled over the coming weeks to provide the lucky new owner with a fabulous supercar ready to show and enjoy when the season kicks off again in the spring.
