Only the pickiest of nits will find fault with this dazzling white Triumph TR3A – it really is an absolute peach.

The car was registered new on 3rd May 1960 and it is believed to have been in single family ownership until 1999, when the mileage was stated be around 20,000 miles. The car was then sold and subjected to a complete restoration. Over the next 8 years the car found two new owners and clocked up an additional 3,000 miles. (Sometime during this period the car was re-registered in Northern Ireland.)

In 2018 the car was bought by a long-time classic car specialist who gave the car a top quality, bare metal respray, replaced much of the brightwork and generally brought the car up to show standard. The car then passed into the hands of a collector, with a reputed sale price of £40,000.

There is not enough paperwork to back up the recorded mileage (23,325) but the outstanding condition of the car makes such a consideration almost immaterial. The car is in fabulous condition inside and out and, our mole tells us, almost as good underneath. Certainly the engine bay, which lets many classic cars down, is impressive.

The hood and side-screens are like new and within the last six months the car has had four new Bridgestone tyres fitted (the spare has never been on the road). An original centre dash section has been fitted to replace the one shown in the photographs.

The car has also been upgraded with gas-filled adjustable shock absorbers and stainless steel exhaust system. It has the optional overdrive fitted. A new VIN plate will be fitted in time for the sale, but the original will be included with the car. 666 AZ has a V5C and an MOT to November 2019 with no advisories.

This is a very smart TR3A and in such clean condition that it is almost too nice to drive. However, it is also too good not to drive and the lucky new owner will have to watch the weather and pick his driving days accordingly.
