The Porsche 3.2 Carrera, produced from 1984 to 1989, is regarded by many as the best of their air-cooled models thanks to its blend of classic good looks, scintillating performance and relatively low cost of ownership – all subsequent models being more complex requiring deeper pockets to maintain.

This impressively original Carrera Coupe, complete with factory sunroof, was originally purchased through JCT 600 in Bradford, its first service taking place in March 1986.

The service book shows 8 stamps in total, all from within the Porsche franchised dealer network, the last service taking place at 46,375 miles – although this was back in 1991!

Over the next few years, a further 3,400 miles were added, before the car was put into storage where it has remained for over 20 years.

As a consequence, it remains in remarkably solid, unmolested and original condition. A new battery and fresh fuel had the car running in no time. The bodywork is basically excellent, with just a small area of bubbling around one of the headlights.

Some paintwork rectification must have taken place during the early days, and there are few areas which could now do with some attention, although on the inside, the vendor describes it as ‘in time warp condition’. We are advised that the electrics are in full working order with the exception of the passenger door central locking.

Originally registered C737 MWE when it lived in the UK, it should be possible to reunite this to the car after a fresh MOT and the relevant paperwork has been completed. It will come with the necessary NOVA documentation and will need a sympathetic recommissioning, including a set of new tyres and a major service before use once more.

What a find, a low-mileage, Guards red, well-spec’d air-cooled 911, and in such solid condition too.
