What you see here is a splendid, last-of-the-line P38 which was first registered in November 2001 and sold through Westover Motors of Christchurch.
Ordered in range-topping Vogue spec, this 4.6-litre 220bhp Thor V8 version is finished in black with ‘finale’ specific six-spoke alloy wheels and full magnolia leather interior piped black. Throw in walnut trim, electric heated memory seats with electric lumbar adjustment, sunroof, cruise control, premium Harmon Kardon sound system with CD changer, Sat Nav, side steps, head lamp washers, twin front arm-rests, Bluetooth Parrot and multi-function steering wheel and you start to get a measure of the car.
As with all P38s, it features the superb EAS air suspension which permits various ride heights and automatic control along with the excellent H-gate automatic transmission offering full-time-four-wheel drive and high and low ratios.
The car comes with a good history file which includes the owners pack showing seven stamps – five from the supplying main dealer, which back up its modest 117,000 miles. There are nine old MOTs and a selection of invoices showing a gearbox oil service at 97,000 miles, a new A/C condenser and drier at 87,000 miles and routine servicing. In January this year, the car was treated to a new track rod end assembly and tracking adjustment and carries a current MOT until December 2019 which shows only limited mileage of around 3,000 miles a year for the last few years.
A lovely opportunity to acquire a late model Vogue in the best colour combination with all the toys, the P38 has been tipped as one to watch and is eminently usable as a Modern Classic.
