It seems a bit of a shame to burden a 998cc Mini with an automatic box, but that’s what BMC did back in the 1960s. They must have known what they were doing and at least one Traveller automatic not only found a buyer, but made it through to the 21st Century.
This 1969 Mini-Minor MkII half-timbered estate is a pretty little car that has had a good quality restoration at some point and still looks lovely in its bright red paint, sparkling chrome and original woodwork. The mileage, 68,475, is believed to be correct but cannot be verified.Mini woodies are a bit of a rarity these days, even rarer in automatic form and it cannot be denied that this midget gem is a bit of a sweetie. MOTd until February next year (with just a few minor advisories), WPE 979G will be an appealing prospect for the Mini collector who has nearly everything but still has one niche to fill.
