It looked like the hot hatchback was the only game in town in the late 1980s and early 1990s and everyone was turning them out – for better or worse. The Peugeot 205GTi was one of the best of the bunch and the 1.9 model was the car that every young hooligan – sorry - every sporting motorist wanted.
This 1992 example looks as good as it ever did and the styling makes a lot of modern ‘super-minis’ look like pimped-up tubs of lard by comparison. The current owner has had the car since 1994 and he has certainly cared for it – who would know from looking that it is 27 years old?
The current recorded mileage is 82,273 miles which is backed up by 23 MOTs and the service record. In fact, the service book has 30 stamps in it, showing that the car was serviced regularly between 1992 and 2017. The car has a current MOT to August 2019 (advisory notes on the brake disc condition).
The vendor has enjoyed owning the car and caring for it in the 25 years he has owned it and it has to be one of the smartest 205GTis around. Low mileage, well cared for, solid service record and the best colour – what more could you ask for?
