A real old school hot rod, the wonderful Z3M Coupe was built as a side-project by BMW’s fabled M Division alongside the regular Z3 range.

Only available from 1998 until 2002, it was developed by BMW M-Sport engineers and featured wacky hatchback styling that vastly improved rigidity compared to the standard Z3 Roadster – which was always considered a bit too frivolous for the really committed driver.

Fitted with the magnificent S50 321bhp straight-six 3.2-litre engine from the contemporary M3, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, it had a fantastic power-to-weight ratio and was the fastest accelerating BMW of its day, scorching to 60 in 5.2 seconds on its way to a top speed limited to 155mph.

The S50 Z3 M Sport Coupe offered here was first registered at Milcars BMW of Rulslip on 27th April 1999 and epitomises everything a BMW M-Series car should be. It must be one of the very best available, having covered a mere 73,000 miles with comprehensive history file, including all MOTs from new.

It is finished in the most desirable colour combination of Estoril Blue Metallic with complementing blue and black leather interior. Supplied with the car is a full history file giving a complete account of its historic maintenance, including a service book with 15 stamps, the last being 250 miles ago.  All associated manuals together with its original leather folder, 4 sets of keys (2 remote and 2 wallet - as supplied from new) and a file full of past service and maintenance invoices and receipts come with the car.  It was recently the subject of a full mechanical and structural inspection by noted marque specialist Munich Legends.

The wheels have been professionally refurbished, powder-coated in BMW sparkle silver and brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 Tyres have been fitted all round. It has just passed an MOT with no advisories which is now valid until March 2020.

With only 821 made in right hand drive, and in the most desirable colour it is a great example of BMW’s practical pocket rocket. As Z3M values have been gently creeping upwards, surely this fine example has to be a great investment.
