This rather smart 1200cc Triumph Herald has been owned by our vendor for over thirty years during which time it has always been garaged and only driven in good weather.

The current MOT runs to June 2019 and has no advisories. The vendor is, perhaps, leading by example, as he is the Secretary of the Triumph Dolomite/Toledo Registry and obviously a dyed-in-the-wool Triumph man.

The car was supplied by Dockholme Garage Ltd, of Long Eaton, Derbyshire in 1969, and there is a copy of the hand-written sales ledger entry in the extensive history file that accompanies the car. Also in that file are many invoices, a hand-written history of all the work carried out since 1988, a number of tax discs and 34 past MOT certificates as well as a copy of the original buff logbook.

The car’s paintwork appears to be original and the bodywork is remarkably sound, which could be explained by the underseal which was applied when new and seems to have been maintained by its three registered keepers. The vendor, who has researched the car from its first days at Dockholme Garage, believes that it has always been kept under cover.

The interior of the car is as smart as the exterior, with the dashboard and upholstery in very good condition. The 25,934 recorded miles are believed to be correct, not just from the condition of the car, but, again, from the vendor’s thorough research of the car as detailed in its accompanying history. The vendor has told us that he will be happy to discuss the car’s history and his research with the successful bidder should they wish.

This is a very smart Herald in lovely original condition, with well-detailed history and genuine low mileage - a good, useable, and thoroughly practical classic.
