The final and best iteration of the 928 was the fabulous GTS version launched at the 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show. Declared “an intoxicating cocktail of driver appeal and luxury,” by Autocar magazine, this 5.4-litre monster produced 350bhp and 369lb/ft of torque, sprinting to 60mph in just 5.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 171mph.

Harder and more driver-focused than the preceding S4, it cost £72,950 when production ceased in ‘95, with just 2,831 sold worldwide, making the GTS seriously collectable.

First registered in 1993, this automatic GTS is a European spec car, believed to be number 337 of the 2,831 built upon decoding the chassis number that has resided in hot, dry Dubai as part of a considerable private collection for a number of years seeing little use.

Finished in Polar silver, the car sits well on its CUP I wheels. Internally it’s finished in Metropole blue leather including the headlining and boasts electric seats, sunroof, air con and seating for four.

The car has covered just 104,700km (64,000miles) indicated and was treated to a major timing belt service and new brakes before leaving Dubai in 2018 to add to the vendor’s UK collection last summer. It is hoped the car will be on UK plates in time for the sale and will come with a fresh MOT. All import duties have been paid and the car has a NOVA reference along with a copy UAE log book (original surrendered to DVLA), invoices and hopefully its V5C.
