First supplied on 21st September 1998 by Charles Hurst of Belfast, this rare Daimler Super V8 long wheel base saloon was similar in mechanical detail to Jaguar’s XJR with power coming from the 4.0-litre Supercharged V8 which developed a whopping supercar baiting 370Bhp which delivered 60mph from rest in just 5.4 seconds. The Daimler version boasted superior quality trim, finish and detail along with a more tailored approach to the car’s individual spec.

Finished in Anthracite with ivory leather interior, the car looks most purposeful sat on 18” Solar alloy wheels, quite the ballistic executive limo! On consulting a period sales brochure the car would of cost at least £63,905 plus an additional £750 for the Ivory leather option -an expensive machine in 1998!

It has covered a modest 96,500 miles from new, however, the engine was replaced under warranty by Jaguar/Daimler in June 2001 at c25,000 miles with supporting documentation in the history file. The logbook shows five owners over the last 21 years and it has clearly been well cared for and well maintained, the history file showing 17 documented services including its most recent in March 2018 at Tanworth garage, less than 1,000 miles ago. There are also 15 old MOTs on file, with all but a handful passing without any advisories including its current clean test running until September 2019.

These supercharged flagship X308 series cars are underrated superstars with a sleek, purposeful design and old school feel to them that oozes charm yet go like they’ve got a rocket up their ‘whatnots’.
