Delivered new on the 20th March in 1969, this impressive 250 V8 comes finished in dark blue with fine, bright chrome work and a light blue/grey leather interior that shows a nice time-worn patina. There remains a deep sheen to the walnut trim and the car still looks sharp and purposeful.
It sounds as it should too and stops well thanks to a recent overhaul of the front callipers and a new set of tyres. The car is said by the vendor to hold oil pressure at 40psi+ on the move with the automatic transmission changing smoothly. Our vendor has loved the car since July 2017 and prior that it had been in another Daimler enthusiasts’ hands for some 12 years in the Sheffield area.
The history file includes the current V5C, some sundry invoices and an MOT running until April 2020 with no advisories. The indicated mileage reads 68,377 miles, with less than 8,000 miles covered over the last 15 years and annual tests. The 29 old MOTs on file show the mileage as 16,280 in 1988, rising steadily to today’s figure showing constant, if modest use.
Find a good one, such as this and it should serve as a faithful companion with that lovely burbly V8 under the hood, a surprising turn of speed and sweet lines – no wonder they are a popular choice for the discerning classic enthusiast, with solid investment potential behind them to boot.
