First registered in May 1958, this sparkling Hillman Minx Jubilee Saloon has spent its life in the Taunton area, making the journey north to appear in the UK’s premier classic car auction.

The car has had only two owners, our vendor becoming its second owner nearly 49 years ago. The car is spotlessly clean inside and out and even under the bonnet, where it appears to have been polished as often as the bodywork. The interior is very smart, the dashboard and foot-wells look like new and the ashtrays may never have been used - judging by their condition.

There is little in the way of history with the car and, sadly, no information on when it was restored or by whom. The recorded mileage is 80,203 and although there is no paperwork to support this as genuine, the condition of the car would tend to support it. It comes with a current V5C, buff logbook and an owner’s manual.

11 BYB is only for sale as the elderly owner is moving house and no longer has room to store it. They are going to miss the car after nearly half a century of ownership and we can only hope that the new owner will appreciate and care for the car as much as the current owner has.

We should point out that the car has not been used for some years and while it is a runner and looks to be in superb condition, the new owner would be wise to give it a good check-over before using it on the road.
