Towards the end of its 10-year production life, in 2004 the Jaguar XK (X100) received a larger 4.2 engine and a facelift including a deeper mouth for the front air intake, new sills and a revised rear bumper and spoiler.
For the following and final year it was also offered as a Special Edition (XK-S and supercharged XKR-S) with a number of bespoke features to highlight Jaguar’s racing heritage including uprated Brembo brakes with red calipers, 20” performance alloys, polished treadplates and Growler badge with chequered flag motifs, darkened rear light clusters, special paint and interior trim plus every available option. The cost was a fiver short of £60k.
This lovely supercharged XKR-S is finished in special Satin Silver paintwork with Warm Charcoal leather trim and white stitching. It rides on huge 20” BBS Perseus split-rim alloys and has all the other special trim options of the flagship run-out model. Naturally it also has the larger 4.2 engine, six-speed ZF automatic gearbox and active CATS suspension of the final cars. With 400 supercharged horses on tap, it will boot you to 60mph in 5.2 seconds with a top speed limited to 155mph.
First registered in August 2005 it was briefly used as a main agent demonstrator and has had just one private owner since. It comes with an excellent service history to warrant the 70,000 miles indicated and was last serviced only 3,000 miles ago. Supplied with all its original handbooks it also has two sets of keys with two remotes and an MOT valid to January 2020 with no advisories. What a lot of car for not a lot of cash!
