Looking like it’s just come out of a ‘70s sales-brochure, this tidy four-speed manual Wolseley 1300 has been a Herefordshire car all its life.

Purchased new by Mr Morgan of Ross on Wye on the 17th of August 1972 through dealer T. C. Longford, Ross on Wye, it remained in his sole charge until purchased by our marque enthusiast in 2011 having last rolled down the streets of Ross on Wye in 1995.

The car saw extensive servicing during its early life, firstly by T. C. Longford and then subsequently by Banfield Bros of Millpond St. Ross on Wye who fitted a new Goldseal engine in May 1978 at approximately 55,000 miles as documented.

Finished in the period hue of Harvest gold with full olive leatherette trim, the car looks a treat - no surprise given the level of careful restoration by our vendor over the past couple of years. Great care has been taken to source new old stock items such as new front and rear subframes, new displacers, new brakes, new chrome, four new tyres and a full body restoration and repaint.

Also in the car’s history file are its original purchase invoice, owner’s hand book and passport to service showing its regular servicing which backs up its modest 79,000 miles as well as period sales brochure.

ADO16 series cars are becoming increasingly collectible as the market wakes up to realise what cracking little cars they are, especially the more refined Wolseley models. Here is your opportunity to get your hands on a really nice two-owner example which has seen much recent time, effort and expenditure lavished upon it.
