Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1996, the new Jaguar XK8 Coupe was the replacement for the venerable XJS which had in turn supplanted the E-Type.

Designed by Geoff Lawson, who had also penned the stunning XJ220, it shared its platform with the Aston Martin DB7 to which it bore a more than passing resemblance. The first Jaguar ever with an eight-cylinder engine, its 4-litre V8 produced 290bhp and could waft the car to an electronically limited 155mph top speed driving through a five-speed auto box.

First registered in May 2002, this XK8 Coupe has covered 71,600 miles to date with an excellent service history comprising 11 stamps in the book, the last at 66,441 miles in March 2016, plus various supporting invoices including new front and rear brake discs/pads in 2013 at 50,000 miles. It has been fitted with 20” Montreal BBS alloys at some point which not only look great but are also worth a small fortune!

Originally registered as BTB 1, this XK8 was won as a prize in a Best Of The Best raffle in 2002 but now has a personalised plate, FS02 GAS, which is included in the sale. A facelift 4.0 model on the cusp of the change to the 4.2 version, it has the later type seats and rear lights and has steel cylinder liners instead of the troublesome Nikasil liners which were fitted to the earlier cars.

On offer here from a deceased estate, it comes with its original bookpack, nine old MOTs back to 2010 and a current MOT which runs to May 2020 with no advisories recorded.

AMENDMENT: This car was driven 40 miles to Brightwells. The battery was then disconnected and we have been unable to start it since. It is now being sold at no reserve as a non-runner.
