The Daimler Consort was a development of the pre-War DB18 and was a quality four-door saloon powered by Daimler’s own six-cylinder ohv 2,522cc six-cylinder engine (which was also used in the firm’s military vehicles). The Conosrt was in production from 1949 to 1953 during which time Daimer produced 4,250 cars.

Offered for sale as part of a deceased’s estate, this 1953 Consort is a genuine one-owner car in original condition.

The car has not had much recent use but was on the road in 2012 and its last MOT, in 2011, has advisory notes for slight deterioration of the exhaust system and light corrosion around the rear wings/body and running boards/body. The speedo shows a mileage of 1,364 and it might be prudent to take this as being the second time around.

The car was a much-loved family friend and the late owner’s son has fond memories of the car being used in later years for Christmas trips and to tow a dinghy to Norfolk on holiday.

There is no paperwork with the Consort other than the V5C, but the car is complete and it should not be too difficult to get it running again (in fact, it is hoped that it will be running in time for the sale) although it will need a good check-over – and possibly a set of tyres - before venturing forth on the road.
