Mercedes-Benz E220 (W124)

Considered by many to be the last of the real Mercedes, this W124 E220 is believed to have been built for the Indian market and has factory raised suspension, air conditioning, manual gearbox and – it is thought – an oversize fuel tank.

It is –for a W124 – a very late registration which would be explained by being in storage or by having been brought to the UK via India. Build date is recorded as being 1997 and it was first registered in this country in January 2000.

In any case, it is a very clean car, with only 48,459 recorded kilometres (30,286 miles) which, the vendor tells us, is warranted by the accompanying service booklet. There are three recorded previous keepers.

The car is exceptionally clean inside and out and has probably the best colour combination in the Mercedes range. Mercedes build quality hit the buffers following the production of the W124 range, so this car hits the spot in all respects. It has an MOT to May 2020. With, as you may expect, no advisory notices.

You could see this E220 as a modern classic or you could see it as an absolute bargain and daily driver, Either way, it is a lot of car for a lot of money – just look at the catalogue estimate!
