Dating from 1963 this lovely Mini Cooper MkI is of French origin and is still on its French plates. Found by our enthusiast collector to add to his collection in July 2018 he set about restoring the car into what we see here today.
This included replacement door skins, new sills, repairs to the floor, new A panels both sides and limited repairs to the scuttle. The car was then stripped and repainted in Old English White with black roof. The interior kept the original colour scheme with only some repairs needed to the seats.
The vendor believes the engine to be the 997cc version (the engine number plaque and chassis number look to confirm this) which ran well needing no further work. The car has remained on its French plates but has been NOVA registered with no import duty required.
The car’s history file includes some French documentation with French log-book Carte-Gris, a French control technique certificate and copy of the Heritage certificate for the car. The car has not yet been UK registered.
Our vendor completed much of the work within his own well-equipped workshops, with the intent of keeping this lovely little MkI Cooper as original as possible.
