Lauded by the Press when it first appeared in 1996, the Aston Martin DB7 went on to become the best-selling Aston Martin of all time, with 7,000 cars produced in its seven-year production run.

Cream of the crop must have been the Vantage model, produced form 1999 onwards: 420bhp 6.0 litre V12, 0-60mph in 5.7seconds, a top speed of 165mph and styling that could turn any man into super spy Johnny English (well, you can’t have it all). Surprisingly, all this came with a solid reputation for the kind of reliability that Ferrari owners could only dream of.

W414 JNA is a 2000-model DB7 Vantage with only 51,838 miles on the clock – confirmed by its service record, which comes with the car. The service book has 10 stamps, all by Aston Martin dealers or Aston specialists. It currently has an MOT to February 2020 (no advisories) and the vendor has told us it will have a new MOT in time for the auction.

The car is in remarkably fine condition with little evidence of its 19 years showing on the bodywork or the interior. The silver paintwork gives the car a certain understated elegance and the unmarked pale grey interior leather has none of the bling of so many ‘high end’ cars.

It is very much as it left the factory in 2000 and still has its full complement of tools, space-saver spare tyre and two keys. It also has a Parrot hands-free kit installed (which, our resident psitticologist tells us, is an electronic device to control mobile phones and the like, not somewhere to park your bird).

This low-mileage Vantage is a refined supercar with a reputation for reliability and a real touch of style. It is also offered for sale with a very reasonable estimate (Passat diesel anyone?).
