Exceedingly well restored ’74 chrome bumper ‘B, lovingly and skilfully restored over the last six months at considerable cost in financial terms and in time by our retired body-man vendor with a lifetime of experience who carries out restorations to occupy his retirement as a hobby.

The key he said, is to start off with a good one in the first place, thus saving time and unnecessary expense if you buy a pear. The car was stripped to bare metal with little welding work to do and then prepped, treated and sprayed in its original colour of Old English White. The car features a cream leather interior piped burgundy and boasts the attractive wooden dashboard with a few extra gauges thrown in for good measure.

Take a look underneath, its as good as it looks on top. The engine is understood to be rebuilt with an unleaded head and upgraded to 2-litres, which was stripped and inspected during the rebuild. The history folder contains a raft of invoices for parts bought, many from MG specialist MGB Hive. The car sits on new Spax shockers, with new discs, has a rebuilt steering rack, new fuel tank, new axle straps, new prop-shaft bolts, badges, door seals and trim, new heater valve, points and condenser, brake pipes the lot. He states, “if it wasn’t replaced, it was refurbished where necessary”.

There are a selection of photographs on file showing the strip, prep and painting of the body along with pictures of the suspension. The file also shows two old MOTs, current V5 and old style V5. This is a very well restored car that’s ready to be enjoyed with all the hard and costly works done...and its on offer at No Reserve so the highest bid buys the car!
