Westfield Sportscars are long established manufacturers of both factory built and kit versions of several two-seater, open top sportscars. Their main product line is a Lotus Seven inspired car with only the bare essentials for motoring in order to give the rawest and most exhilarating driving experience.

In 2000 they were the first to take the 1300cc engine from what was at the time the world’s fastest motorcycle -the Suzuki Hyabusa, and inserted it into one of their cars to create the Megabusa. With a body made of fibreglass with plenty of carbon fibre, and virtually nothing else the new car weighed in at 970lbs. Now the Hyabusa engine puts out 185bhp so that gives it a power to weight ratio of 427hp/ton. Not bad eh?

Well here are some more stats to whet your appetite: 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds on the way to a geared top speed of 135mph, which doesn’t sound that quick, but bear in mind it’s only taken 10 seconds to get there!  Take it to Santa Pod and it will cover the ¼ mile in 9.8 seconds! That is very, very fast. To give you some idea it takes a Porsche 911 GT2 10.5 seconds…

So we’ve established its extremely quick!

This particular Megabusa was built in 2000 and was for the first few months Westfield’s factory demonstrator. The Vendor purchased it directly from them in 2002, with about 3,000 miles on the clock. Whilst in his care he has added a mere 300 further miles, whilst the car has been regularly serviced back at Westfields, the last time in 2014.   It is in great working order and is fully road legal, although it last had an MoT in 2013, but has covered no miles since having been in storage.

The Vendor has other toys in the box, and as the Megabusa is not being used it is being offered for sale at a very attractive Reserve. Ready for track use, or on the road for the brave one thing is for sure – excitement is 100% guaranteed!
