KBL 964L is a stalled project but easily recognisable as a Volkswagen bay window camper. The father and son team behind this camper have done a huge amount of work on it and it does look rather smart, if a trifle unfinished.
However, the not-quite-completeness (is that really a word?) of the camper is, perhaps, one of its major attractions: the interior represents a blank canvas upon which the new owner(s) can express their inner self. It could become a mobile food factory/hipster café, or if that is a bit passé, a mobile VW specialist’s workshop or, more down to earth, an opportunity to create a camper van that isn’t crammed to the gunwhales with Formica, Bri-Nylon, and someone else’s idea of ‘style’.
Father & Son rescued the camper from stagnation in a field about five years ago and have expended a lot of blood, sweat and cash on it. (That is one of its other major attractions.) It now has an MOT (to June 2019) but needs the finishing touches that will make it a true transport of delight. This is where you come in. Bid early, bid often.
