To the man on the Clapham omnibus this BMW looks like any other BMW but, to the wise man, it looks like an intergalactic rocket ship. It is, in fact, an E60 5,000c, 507bhp, V10 M5 – which makes it more of the latter and less of the former.

It is, also, something to give you a little faith in the ways of the world: the car was first prize in a dream car drive-away competition. However - back to reality – it was won by a young man with no driving licence, so he never got to enjoy it!

The car would have cost £67,000 when it was new, back in 2005; it is now offered for sale with a very reasonable guide price of £11,000 - £13,000. It has covered just over 89,000 miles since new and comes with a full service history (including the vital running-in service): 12 stamps in its service booklet – 11 of them from main dealers. It was fitted with a new clutch and flywheel at 81,487 miles.

The car came with a raft of options including multifunctional seats and Panasonic Bluetooth heads-up display and still has its tool kit, First Aid kit, and electric compressor – none of which look to have ever been used. The Silverstone Blue paint and the leather interior are both in remarkable condition and with a private number plate it would be hard to date this car. RF05 EWL has an MOT to January 2020 with no advisories.
