Fully restored by a classic car enthusiast in Welshpool over the past two years, the V5 states that this iconic Mini dates from the 17th August 1962 and would have originally packed the standard 848cc A-Series engine.
Our vendor was on a quest to rebuild it into a Cooper homage and as such, now features a rebuilt 998cc engine in the restored shell which looks to have come from a later model. It has been fitted with an arty interior boasting a Union Jack design with diamond pattern stitching to the two-tone seats and door cards – how very British.
The car also features the period-correct extra-large single fuel tank and comes with photographs of the rebuild but unfortunately no supporting invoices as they all went through his company. Take a good look around however and you can see the car has been done well with enough of the right bits to fool most people, plus of course a few modern quirks.
Available at a fraction of what a real Cooper would cost today, this attractive Mini offers something for everyone with the added incentive that all old Minis seem to continue to creep up in value, particularly the early cars. Get involved and give it some use!
