Honda cars have always been the sensible shoes of motoring, but occasionally they do produce a Nike Air Jordan 1 (ask a teenager): the CRX was one such car. Sharp styling, light weight and a peppy twin-cam all alloy 1,600cc engine gave Honda a best-seller at home and abroad.
This 1989 CRX is a very smart example with just under 75,000 miles showing on the clock and four owners only in the logbook. Thirty years on – 30 years! – F167 EFK is still stylish and remains in extremely smart condition.
It has an MOT to June 2020 with three minor advisories noted. It has been in a private collection for the past five years and has hardly been used in that time. It comes with its original handbook, invoices and its service history, all of which show that it was well cared for and regularly serviced by its earlier owners and has not been used much since a service which included replacement brake calipers in 2015.
This CRX is a very smart and useable modern classic. Honda engineering and production standards coupled with the care given to it by its four previous keepers should ensure that the new owner will have little to worry about. An appreciating modern classic which is easy to live with and fun to drive.
