This smart, later Series III 88” as a post 1980 vehicle, boasts the stronger five main-bearing crankshaft and strengthened hubs over earlier models and comes to us from loving five year ownership.

First supplied in 1981, this Landy has evidently been restored, although its unclear when - the way it drove being the primary factor he bought it. It has been loved by husband, wife and kids alike being mainly used on the school run in darkest, rural Herefordshire.

The seating features three vinyl seats up front, with four folding individual seats in the rear with seat belts. The 2.25 petrol fired with ease at the time of our visit, a reflection of the quality of the vehicle and our vendor’s keenness for it to be kept just so.

Works undertaken during his tenure include new rear lights, leads and front wheel bearings in May 2018, a new exhaust and manifold in October 2016 along with replacement front footwell in May 2016. The front and rear suspension was overhauled along with diff seals in July 2015 and a new fuel pump was fitted in October 2014.

The history file includes invoices relating to the works mentioned and a few more for other minor works but nothing pertaining to its restoration, however, that is self-evident from a good look around and underneath where it looks to have a galvanised chassis. Two sets of keys, the V5C and a current MOT running to May 2020 with no advisories complete.

This is a most usable Land Rover which is ready to go.
