One of several MGB models in our sale today, this chrome-bumper MGB Roadster was first registered in June 1971 and comes with a large history file extending back to the early 1980s.

Lots of money has been spent on the car over the years and it appears that it was pretty much fully restored between 1983 and 1987 with many invoices to show the work carried out. It was fitted with a rebuilt engine and overdrive gearbox by The Engine Centre of Stockport in 1983 at which point it had covered 88,000 miles (invoice on file), the odometer now showing 99,440 miles (unwarranted).

If you are wondering about the red engine bay, it seems that the car has always been white but the underbonnet area was deliberately painted red when the engine was replaced because the owner thought it looked nice!

We are told that our vendor shared the car with a friend who had owned it since 1987, but as he spent much of his time living in Spain he did not put it into his own name until he moved back to the UK in 2005. Last on the road in 1993, the car has been in dry storage ever since.

On offer here from a deceased estate, it is now in need of restoration but we are told that the engine still turns and the car rolls freely. Get your finger out and you could have it back on the road for the Spring.
