The Lancia Fulvia was in production between 1963 and 1976 following its introduction at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963.

These charismatic cars are notable for their role in motorsport history, including winning the International Rally Championship in 1972. On testing a Fulvia in 1967, Road & Track summed it up as ‘a precision motorcar, an engineering tour de force. Dainty and chic from all angles, they have a fabulously airy interior that is austerely yet elegantly trimmed. More than just a pretty face, they also go extremely well with superb handling and an amazingly willing 1,298cc V4 engine that pumps out 92bhp’.

The first Coupé 1.3S versions were built from 1970–73 with a new 5 speed gearbox and uprated Girling calipers and pads. These were replaced in 1974 by the Fulvia 3 Series 2 which were recognized by their matt black grills and headlight frames, new design of seats incorporating headrests and new white faced instrument dials.

The Fulvia 3 offered is a Series 2 Coupé 1.3S built in 1974. History suggests that the car has seen little use in recent years having been on SORN since 2012. The current custodian acquired the car some twelve months ago and has comprehensively restored the car to the lovely condition it is presented in today.

The bodywork has been repaired and the car fully repainted in stunning green with black bonnet, a tribute to the Fulvia’s competition days. The suspension and brakes have been overhauled with new tyres and a new petrol tank fitted, while the engine has been removed, recommissioned and replaced.

With the addition of new carpets, the beautifully patinated interior still looks superb, retaining the original seats which are in fine condition front and rear. As can be seen, the engine bay and engine are beautifully presented with all the original fittings and plates intact.

As the popularity of Fulvias continues to grow, decent examples that are sorted and ready to go are becoming extremely hard to find.

Presented in splendid green and black with spotlights and bumperless body, this example really evokes the sporting history and exciting sports car performance that these cars deliver. With an MOT until July 2020, serious sporting fun awaits the lucky new owner.
