MGB GT

First registered in April 1972, this MGB GT is in exceptionally sound and largely original condition throughout. In 1978 it was acquired by the current registered keeper, a Mr Pyment of Chipping Camden, who used it only very sparingly before eventually part-exchanging it for a new car at his local Citroen dealership, Cotswold Garage of Chipping Camden in 1997. They kept the car as a showroom exhibit for the next 13 years, only disposing of it in February this year when the garage was sold for redevelopment. During their custodianship the car was resprayed in its original British Racing Green, all the rubber parts replaced, a new clutch, radiator, stainless steel exhaust and oil cooler fitted, and new brake and fuel pipes fitted.

In the last 23 years the car has only covered around 1,500 miles and the 30,290 miles currently displayed on the odometer is believed to be genuine, although there is insufficient documentary evidence to warrant this. The general condition of the car would certainly seem to bear it out though, as does the large amount of history extending back to 1989. Equipped with an overdrive gearbox, the car is said to drive beautifully and comes with an MOT until February 2011.
