This wonderful little replica is a 2/3 scale model of the famous Jaguar D-Type, registration number 774 RW, in which Mike Hawthorn and Ivor Bueb won the infamous 1955 Le Mans 24-Hour Race. It measures 259cm long by 112cm wide.

Thought to be one of only six such cars made by celebrated model-maker Javan Smith, it is powered by a 12v electric motor driving the rear wheels through a differential. It has a top speed of around 12mph and a range of about 25 miles on a single charge. It is fitted with a variable speed limiter for parental control. The throttle pedal is adjustable to suit the height of the driver and features electro-mechanical brakes that automatically apply the brakes when the throttle is closed. It also has an electric parking brake, both forward and reverse gears, swing-axle suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and fully functioning lights.

The cockpit features green leather seats with full dashboard instrumentation and is lined in aluminium. The outer bodywork is made from GRP. The tyres are 145 x 10 inflatable pneumatic items fitted to 10-inch steel wheels with replica D-Type hubcaps. It is supplied with a battery charger and a custom-made trailer for ease of transport.

Great fun for whizzing around the garden in, or would make an ideal stable-mate for anyone lucky enough to own a real D-Type!
