This Snowberry White MGB GT was first registered in January 1973 and has been owned by the same husband and wife from new, covering less than 38,200 miles throughout that time. From 1980 until 2002 the car was put into storage in a temperature controlled building used to store wine, being carefully prepared for lay-up by putting it on blocks, pouring oil down all the spark plug holes and leaving the windows slightly open. For insurance purposes the car was temporarily registered in the name of the storer but has now reverted to the wife of the original owner.

Since being taken out of storage the car has been fully serviced and recommissioned, including an overhaul of the braking and fuelling system with new discs fitted, new fuel and water pumps and a new radiator. Some minor paintwork rectification has also been carried out. Eligible for free Historic road tax and currently MOTd until May 2011, the car is said to drive very well and has never been welded or otherwise restored in any significant way.

It comes with a fair amount of paperwork including the original bill of sale from GUS Transport Ltd of Worcester when it cost £1,484.40 with the options of racing wing mirrors and an overdrive gearbox, various bills and MOTs going right back to the 1970s and the original Passport to Service book. Such original and largely unrestored cars are increasingly hard to find and this low mileage example looks a most interesting prospect at the guide price suggested today.
