Believe it or not, this car actually started out in life as a 1970 Porsche 911 Targa but it has had around £35,000 spent on it in the last five or six years to transform it into the machine you see today, a Porsche 993 Convertible look-alike.
Apart from the floorpan, very little of the original car remains and it is now powered by a 3.2-litre Carrera engine mated to a 915 gearbox which has been fully rebuilt. The suspension is also from a 3.2 Carrera and the brakes have been upgraded with cross-drilled discs, bigger calipers and servo assistance.
Externally it has been treated to a full 993 steel body conversion with turbo front and rear bumpers. The wheels are 18-inch split rims with new tyres all round. The interior is all to 993 spec with electric sports seats in the front and a new Clubsport steering wheel. The power hood is electrically operated. Appearing to be in very smart condition throughout, the car comes with a fresh MOT and is said to drive well. Being registered as a 1970 vehicle, it also has the benefit of being completely free to tax – which is nice…
