THIS CAR HAS NOW BEEN WITHDRAWN

Launched in 1967, the Chevrolet Camaro was a direct response to Ford’s all-conquering Mustang. It shared its platform and all major components with the Pontiac Firebird, also introduced in 1967. Four distinct generations of the car were produced before production ended in 2002.

The third generation Camaro was produced from 1982 to 1992. These were the first Camaros to offer modern fuel injection, Turbo-Hydramatic 700R4 four-speed automatic transmissions, 16-inch wheels, and versatile hatchback bodies. The cars were nearly 500 pounds lighter than the long-running second generation model and had four wheel disc brakes as standard.

I’m afraid your cataloguer is not very good on American cars and this is where his knowledge runs out. This 1983 car would appear to be a Z28 third generation model and we believe it is fitted with a 5-litre V8. The car was imported from America in June 2008 in order to fill a container and neither we, nor the vendor, know much more about it! All we can say is that it apparently runs very well, looks very smart and is due to have a fresh MOT before the sale. At the guide price suggested today it looks a cheap entry into the world of American muscle.
