The Bantam came in 6 basic varieties, the D1 – the original plunger frame green coloured machine, the D3 with its engine boosted to 150ccs, the D5 with an extra 25ccs on top of that, the D7 with larger brakes, D10 and the final version the D14/4 with 4 speeds.
The V5 states that EOL 601C was manufactured in 1965, however the D14B frame number referred to in the document would suggest a later 1968 D14 Supreme model. The engine is almost certainly from an earlier bike, a very common situation as these bikes were designed to be used everyday and many have served their time on the daily commute. It looks to be sound and complete, with the engine turning over freely.
