Edward Turner’s pretty little Tiger Cub was launched to the public at the Earls Court Show in 1953. Its 4-stroke 199cc dry sump engine made it unusual amongst its Villiers and BSA 2-stroke powered competition. No manufacturer could afford to ignore the popular sport of trials riding and Triumph was no exception. They launched a very attractive range of Trials machines with “TR” frame numbers, the well known Thames Ditton Dealers, Comerfords, purchasing a batch of 50 or so machines from the factory in the mid/late ‘60s and converting them to “works spec”.

This fine looking machine was the property of the late John Guest, a prominent Scrambles champion in the late ‘60s who led the AMCA championship from 1968-1970 on his Husqvarna 250 competing extensively both at home and abroad. The history of this machine is unknown, however he always referred to it as his 'Comerford Cub' and is reputed to have used it in competition. Road registered, the V5 confirms that it has a rare genuine TR20 frame number and T20S engine from an earlier machine making it a perfect bike to use in the ever popular classic trials scene.
