The A65 was launched in 1962 as a lighter, more modern replacement for the evergreen A10. Its 654cc engine carried over most of the internal components from its predecessor, however the gearbox was now in unit with the engine making the bike lighter and look more contemporary.
The vendor purchased this machine to restore and has undertaken a frame up rebuild to a very high standard. Stainless steel nuts and bolts have been used throughout and the engine has been rebuilt with an SRM unleaded head conversion. New exhausts have been fitted, along with new shock absorbers, tyres and Akront alloy wheels. Painted in its original colour scheme, this most attractive example has covered less than 100 miles since completion. It starts easily and runs beautifully, the alternator charging healthily with the unmistakable roar of a powerful ‘60s twin coming from its exhausts.
