One of four Rolls 20/25 models in our sale today, this particular car was built in 1931 and features most attractive four-light saloon coachwork by the Carlton Carriage Company of Willesden, London NW10, well-respected coachbuilders who bodied a number of imposing Rolls, Bentley and Mercedes cars in the 1930s. A plaque on the sill indicates that it was supplied new by Paddon Brothers Rolls-Royce of Brompton Road, London SW7.

There is very little history with the car but it appears to have been registered in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, in September 1932 where it may have remained until returning to England in 1992. The current vendor acquired the car in 2002 and has been using it for the last nine years as part of a 10-strong fleet of wedding cars.

Always well-maintained in the current ownership, the car is said to have proved totally reliable throughout that time and has always been a popular choice with clients, earning a very good income for the business. The green leather interior has clearly been retrimmed at some point in the not-too-distant past and remains in nice condition, as does the black over ivory coachwork. An expensive stainless steel exhaust has also recently been fitted.

Supplied with a copy of an original owner’s handbook, the car is MOTd until September 2012, taxed until next July and is ready for immediate use. It is only being sold due to a down-sizing of the vendor’s business.
