The flagship saloon of the BMW range, the 7-Series was launched in 1977 and has gone through five generations to date. The car you see here is a second generation E32 model, available from 1987 to 1995.
It is powered by a creamy smooth straight-six 3-litre engine that produces 199bhp and, in four-speed automatic form, can propel the car to 60mph in 10 seconds on its way to a top speed of 140mph.
First registered in April 1992, this 7-Series has clearly led a very cosseted life and it is hard to believe that it is now 21 years old and has covered some 128,650 miles. In superb condition throughout, it has been serviced no less than 21 times by BMW main agents, the vendor advising us that he has always kept it in his garage and that he is only selling it as he has accumulated too many cars.
A Special Equipment model, it is packed with every conceivable option including: full grey leather trim; electric seats; burr walnut inlays; interior lighting pack; automatic air conditioning; Kenwood hi-fi system; on-board computer; electric steel sunroof; servotronic system; cross-spoke alloy wheels; headlamp wash system - not surprising that it cost well over £31,000 when new. It still retains its tool kit and triangle in the boot.
MOTd until November 2013, it is said to drive perfectly. Altogether a huge amount of car for a very small amount of money!
