This fun little car is a replica of a 1920s Bugatti T35 and has a high quality fibreglass body in vivid French Blue.

Based on a June 1970 VW Beetle donor car, it is classed as a Historic Vehicle and is therefore free to tax. Although the V5C records it as a 1.2-litre, the vendor believes that it is actually fitted with a twin port 1.6-litre VW engine. With so little weight to lug around, it is said to be remarkably quick and will easily cruise at 70mph in 4th although the wind buffeting puts you off going much faster!

The two seater cockpit is trimmed in beige vinyl with a walnut dash housing period-looking instruments. It is also worth mentioning that the electrical system (often a weak point on such cars) is said to be very robust and reliable.

It is not known when the car was built but the current owner acquired it from a rally driver after it had been in storage for several years. He thoroughly recommissioned the car last summer and believes that the recorded mileage of just under 500 is the genuine distance covered since build – the overall condition of the car would certainly not rule this out.

Cheap and economical to run, it is said to drive beautifully and comes with an MOT until July. A real eye-catcher, it is just the job for Prescott and Goodwood outings this summer.
