The BSA Rocket Three and Triumph Trident were designed in tandem and were the last 'all new' machines to be engineered at the Meriden works. Based on a heavily re-worked vertical twin, the new triple was increased in capacity to 750cc to appeal in the US market.
Unfortunately they decided to employ Ogle Design to come up with a new look. For some reason this considerably delayed production and when the result was finally unveiled, the new square tank was the only bit that didn't receive a rapturous welcome. Worse still, it had allowed Honda the time to introduce the superb new CB750 4-cylinder which didn’t leak, had electric start and was more reliable.
The T150 on offer is described by the vendor as a good runner which will require light recommissioning before it can be used on the road again. Registered in May 1972 it is tax exempt and looks like a lot of bike for the money.
