THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN.

The stylish Pininfarina designed GT coupe version of the MGB Roadster was launched in 1965. A taller windscreen and new roof line did nothing to harm the good looks of the open version.

The 95bhp B-Series engine was tough and reliable and the car sold well all over the world, especially in the all-important American market. It remained in production until 1980 by which time nearly 500,000 MGBs of all types had been produced, making it the most successful sports car ever, eclipsed only recently by the Mazda MX5.

Dating from May 1974, this particular GT has been fitted with a race tuned 2-litre engine that is believed to have been engineered by Oselli. It also benefits from negative camber steering geometry, adjustable shock absorbers, Minilite-style alloy wheels and a Webasto sunroof. Fitted with working overdrive, it has also been converted to run not only on unleaded fuel but also on LPG.

We are informed that it comes with an extensive history file including a recent bill of £1,800 for new floors, sills, lower wings and castle sections. Currently taxed and freshly MOTd with no advisories, it can be driven away from the sale but would no doubt benefit from some cosmetic tidying here and there.
