The Yamaha XS400S was part of a range of parallel twins of varying capacity.
Developing 36bhp, the sweet 392cc ohc unit could propel the bike to a top speed of 109mph, a six-speed gearbox making the most of its modest output. It was in production from 1977 until 1982, and by 1980, when this machine left the production line, the specification included attractive and practical alloy wheels and useful disc brakes.
On offer from a deceased estate, this one owner machine has not been on the road since the late ‘90s. A particularly clean example, it will require light recommissioning before it can be ridden on the road again.
