One of several MGBs in our sale today, this 1967 GT has had just 3 owners from new, the first keeping it until 2003, a period of 36 years.

An interesting man, he was appointed to investigate the notorious Maria Colwell murder case in the early ‘70s, was heavily involved in the investigation of war crimes and was made a QC in 1969. He met his wife, an American Red Cross nurse, on a train to Cornwall, fell in love and married her after they had known each other for just a few hours….wonderful stuff.

Its new owner kept the car for a further 3 years before the vendor spotted it parked by the roadside in Hereford displaying a for sale sign and couldn’t resist. She has kept the car in excellent condition, has recently fitted a new exhaust and felt the brakes needed a little more bite so had a servo and larger reservoir fitted. The period radio has been tweaked to provide FM stations and inertia seat belts were fitted for convenience. A battery conditioner has also been permanently wired in to ensure the car is always ready for action and it is fitted with a hidden immobiliser switch. Unusually it hasn’t been cut open for a sunroof which is nice to see.

Described by the vendor as running and driving beautifully and MOTd until July of this year, it is a well presented example of a nice early GT. Get one while you can.

CATALOGUE AMENDMENT: please note that the V5 quotes chassis number GHN31 124571 which is quoted in the printed catalogue.  The plate on the car shows GHD3 / 124571 which is the correct body code for a GT.
