The Gloucester-based Cotton Motorcycle has a huge following. The first machines were produced in 1918 by Frank Cotton, who soldiered on producing bikes until his retirement in 1953.
After Frank's demise a new company was formed, E Cotton Ltd, which continued to make their own frames and fitted bought in engines, mainly from Villiers until that relationship came to an end after which things were never quite the same. A variety of engines were then fitted, principally from Rotax and Minarelli, until the company eventually wound down in 1980.
This c.1965 Cotton Scrambler is offered here as a restoration project with no engine or gearbox. With the recent resurgence in classic trials and scrambles, this is an ideal opportunity to build a top level competitive machine.
